Lacrosse Coaches Built on Standards, Experience, and Player Development
Forge Lacrosse Performance is led by coaches who understand that athletes need more than random reps. They need clear expectations, position-specific instruction, honest feedback, and a training environment that challenges them to grow.

Coach Doug Steele
Hailing from Long Island, New York—one of the nation’s premier hotbeds for elite lacrosse—Coach Doug Steele established a foundation of athletic excellence early on as a four-year, dual-sport varsity starter and team captain in both lacrosse and football.
He carried that leadership to Sacred Heart University, where he cemented his legacy as a multi-year NCAA All-American, four-time Defensive MVP, and a rare four-year team captain. Today, Doug channels that competitive pedigree into Forge Lacrosse Performance, delivering a highly structured development system to athletes across Upstate South Carolina.

Coach Brian Silcott
Brian Silcott brings a rare combination of elite playing experience, championship coaching, and national leadership built over more than 45 years in the game. At Nazareth, he was a two-time All-American, national champion, two-year team captain, and the 1993 Fran McCall Award winner as the top midfielder in Division III lacrosse. He carried that excellence into 11 professional seasons across Major League Lacrosse and the National Lacrosse League, including four years as captain of the Boston Cannons, leading teams to championship games in both leagues.
After his playing career, Brian became the first Black head coach in Major League Lacrosse history and served as Executive Vice President and Governor of the NLL’s Portland LumberJax. As a coach, he helped guide Nazareth to a national championship in 1996—adding a coaching title to the one he won there as a player in 1992—with coaching stops spanning Trinity College, Wentworth, The Bolles School, and the Scotland Men’s National Team. Most recently, he coached the Sweetlax 2026 team to a No. 2 national ranking, with every player on the roster going on to play Division I college lacrosse.
Brian’s work extends well beyond wins and rankings. He served USA Lacrosse as National Men’s Game Director, Vice President of Sport Growth and Development, and a member of the Board of Directors, and led Player Experience and Lacrosse Administration for the Premier Lacrosse League. He has directed and coached Jamaica’s national program and currently supports Greece’s effort to qualify for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. For Greenville-area players and families, training with Brian means learning from someone who has developed athletes from youth lacrosse all the way to the Division I and professional level.
